Ok...i downloaded WoW the other day and i play for about two days and tried to get on one morning and they were doing maintenance so i waited until it was over and then logged on. It downloaded the new patches until about 98% where it told me it couldn't copy the new files and said to fix this i could click repair or reinstall the game. I clicked repair and told it to check and repair all files but everytime it gets to a certain point in the process it tells me the data required to fix is too great and i must reinstall the game. I don't know data is possibly missing because i went through the whole six hour process doing everything right and there isn't a single scratch on that cd. I'm not very good with computers but at the moment i don't have a very fast computer but the game runs perfectly fine when i set the graphics low. I am currently building a fast computer but i still want to play WoW until then. Any and all opinions would help because i am CLUELESS at the moment. If anything pops in your head at all do not hestitate to type it...
well to answer both questions i had, just go to the website, worldofwarcraft.com and go into account management since you have an account. not the change password or whatever part just click on account management, that gives you a bunch of different options once you enter a username and password. there is a link to a universal client downloader, download it, its a small file that will allow you to download and install the basic WoW game and both expansions (if you have them that is) that should solve any problems with installation and patches. then if you want to run the game in full graphics mode. which is why i built my pc a couple months ago, all i did was buy a 2.4 amd dual core processor and a good graphic card, i went with the affordable geforce 9500 gt Tigerdirect.com had it up there for 65 bucks. cheap for a good card. processor and vid card is where its at for performance. WoW is pretty simple to out perform with a semi cheap built system. hope this helps.

Do you play totally maxxed out? And if you do what are your avg frames in Shat or Dalaran?
Check your WoW directory (or public docs on Vista) for the latest revision number that you have. Should be at least 3.0.8xxxxx
If in doubt just get on the tech forums and ask then what the lates patch revision is.
If it isnt in those folders, and you are having issues with Blizz DL'er then grab the patch off a torrent site or mirror. you should look for 3.0.3 to 3.0.8 i believe (has been a month or so since i played but i believe this is correct.
What are your system specs?

Yeah, i play max graphics including shadowing. anything you can have maxxed or anything you can turn on to test, i have on, and i run smooth. I generally run around 70+ framerate outside questing, and around 40-60 in shatt/dalaran. it also depends on time of day and server though. High population server Hyjal around dinner time, or any day during the week, Dalaran is just a joke. no lag, but frame rate drops. no where below 30 though. and from what i was told from a friend, framerates on WoW stop telling you at around 70.. so you could be averaging 100+ and WoW will never inform you of it.
No sound card, so i play without sound generally. it works, but there are some sound options that can cause some decreased quality in game play if turned on with just on board sound. but i dig my setup, and dont regret spendin the money.

I have seen well over 100FPS with some settings not maxxed.
