I am building a new system for my daughter based on the ECS K7S5A MB. On previous motherboards I have seen a 3 pin connector for connecting the power LED which properly mates to a 3-pin connector on the end of the power LED cable. However the instructions in the user's guide are somewhat compromised and I was able to deduce that connector pins 2 and 4 are reserved for this purpose. This is confirmed by the diagram ECS supplies on their web site. So I am left trying to figure out how to connect a 3-pin header to a 2 pin connector. Did ECS change the standard and not tell anyone? Does any other mfg. do this? Are their multiple standards? Yeccchhhh!

When I used to use that motherboard I just plugged the reset button into the power pins and used that instead...

weird thing is my next door nieghbour has the old system (same case & mobo) and he has both buttons working properly...which is strange as he knows nothing about computers and knocks on my door to help him set up an e-mail account
;)

When he's in next I'll take a look and post back here

Does your three pin header only have two wires? If so,just pull one wire out of the socket and put it in the empty one in the middle.

That's what I landed up doing, but I don't understand how these sorts of things aren't tied down in the ATX standard. Oh well...
