What type of internet connection do you have?

I hate to break it to you but a 9600gt isnt an awesome graphics card.

I have comcast, non-wireless. I don't think it's a internet problem because i lag in oblivion. (a 9600 GT, isn't the best but it should do what i want it to do.)

what resolution are you trying to play on? for that matter, what are you general graphics settings. also, is your power supply up to it?

75z and my power supply is a 550W

Go into the Nvidia control panel and turn off vsync. Make all other settings " use application settings". Use single display option also.

I turned off vsync, but i still lag

Is this just for online play ?

What opsys are you running.

And has this been happening since the machine was first built or did it run fine and just recently start ?

Do you mean 75Hz refresh? What resolution? Have you got AA switched on? What make/model PSU? Cheap no-name PSU may not be upto the job! :non:

How are your thermals?

I know some games can lag out (dont know why) if the frames per sec are too high? You can set max frames of 30 in some games, i.e LOTRO and that seems to sort some lagging issues, not if this does or can apply to you though.

With your system there shouldn't be a lag in BF2 no matter how much AA you have on ....maybe if you are running at resolutions of 1920 or higher but BF2 should run pretty smooth with a 9600GT.

Read this for some ideas. Google your mobo (ASUS M2N-MX-SE you mean?) and lag you get a lot of hits

Wondering if this could be your problem too. I am thinking that it might have to do with your mobo cooling. I read a post somewhere that this happened to someone after getting this mobo. Perhaps the chipsets have poor cooling and they overheat as AMDfangirl is pointing at.

This might solve your problem. In the first link, they lowered their voltages which would = lowering their temps. Are you running off the stock CPU cooler? Maybe getting a better CPU heatsink and then a fan to blow on your chipset heatsink will help.

I've check my temperature for the mobo and CPU, right now the temperature of the CPU is 38C and the mobo is 39C, I've checked all my drivers and they are all updated

I think i've found the problem, i installed the Cd for my mobo that had the vista drivers on it. But the mobo didn't come with any other Cd besides the extra features CD. Can any help me with this?

This is your board right? MX not MS?

On the left there is a download section. Snag the chipset divers and see if installing helps any.
