Go for two sticks of Corsair TWINX CAS2 memory, if you want to pay the premium for it. Whatever they are, I'm told you must ensure that the sticks are exactly matched - even down to the manufacturing batch number on the chip. Run it in synch with your FSB, which will probably be 166MHz/PC2700 speed for your chip if it's Athlon XP 2500+ or better.
You probably will not benefit from PC3200/DDR400 RAM, PC2700/DDR333 is optimal in synch with current FSB processors.

ok, the truth is you DON'T need matched sticks, their somewhat likely not to be compatable, but your paying a LARGE premium for that, i purchased 2 non matched sticks and are fine. The other thing is the dual DDR only works with PC3200! 2700 won't cut it, but you probably won't notice a huge difference between the 2 speeds anyway. If you do get a 2500+, go for the 2700 cas2 ram, also the same if your getting a 2100+ and overclocking the fsb on the thing. If your going to get a 2200+ or below and not overclocking it, your not going to get a huge improvement with the ram -_-

"What kind of idiot are you?"
"I don't know, what kinds are there?"

Dual mode works with any two sticks, as long as they are running at the same speed. It doesn't matter how fast they are. They don't HAVE to be PC3200, but obviously they would run the fastest.

To get in dual mode, you need to have one stick in one of the first two banks (#1 or 2, or the black and blue ones that are side by side) and the other in the isolated third bank (#3, or the blue one that's all by itself).

yeah the sticks don't have to be matched... aslong as they are identical.. it's best that they mave the same timings aswell as FSB, but i've heard of people mixing the timings of the modules... but yeah... you don't need matched specifically.

Save yourself alot of time and headaches. Get matched twin sticks of Corsair DDR. Read through the hundreds of posts about stability issues with dual channel DDR and "unmatched" sticks of DDR.
