I have a N5350 running ME, which as we know is far from perfect. I have a
generic Windows 98 disk.
1. Can this generic 98 disk be used on a laptop
2. I have used this disk to recover a desk top, it had 98 to begin with,
without loss of any information on the hard drive. Can I replace ME with 98 OS
with out touching anything else on the drive?

I don't believe you can downgrade like that . . . installing Windows 98 in
place of ME will require a reformat. You know, if you want a better OS . .
.. go Windows 2000. You could install it easy and upgrade from ME.
My N5270 came with ME . . . but I fell in love with Win2K and installed it a
month after I got my N5270.
