I've installed my new Asus P4PE and it doesn’t recognize my C: drive. In the bios I it set to auto detect it and it sometimes it does, but when I go to boot up, it always says "Primary Master: NONE" I also set it to be #1 in the boot sequence so I know thats not the problem.

also, I've tried to set up windows on it by putting the windows disk into my cdrom. I formatted the drive using NTFS and all that but like I said before, when I go to boot up the motherboard can't find the drive.

Whats the problem????

Check the connection of IDE and power cables again to make sure they are firmly attached to the hard disk drive. Also, is there any other drive connected to the IDE channel?

Excuse the intrusion but I am looking for a copy of the CD that came with the P4PE. Any possibilility that you could make me a copy. Bought an OEM board & it is not available on their website!!! I have been waiting over a week for ASUS tech support & they haven't even answered me yet!!! Let me know & I 'll send a few $$'s for shipping. Thanx, tomasb2@hotmail.com

Does your HD have a 8Mb cache.
Sometimes this can give problems as it is not recognized.
The problem is usually rectified by upgrading the bios.
