I'm thinking of upgrading my motherboard and the best chipset still seems to be the Nforce 2. Does anyone know the official position about support for upcoming 400MHz fsb processors? I want this motherboard to last for a while.

There are probably won't be any 400FSB AMD CPU... But even at 333FSB your system can hold you for at least 2-3 year if you also got good RAM and good graphic card.

You never know how stupid you are until you have done something stupid enough for you to realize it.

Most current Nforce2 boards will not support the upcoming 400Mhz CPUs. I've heard that there are new revisions of some boards (Asus A7N8X V2 and such) that will but just make sure to confirm support.

I personally have an Asus A7N8X Deluxe with at Barton 2500+. With VCore of 1.75 I can get my FSB to 195 with the stock multiplier of 11 (200Mhz FSB with 10X will boat into windows and run some benchmarks but it is not stable). At 190-195 I can run 3DMark 03 but it fails Prime95 torture test on the first or 2nd run.

I myself have settled on 185Mhz FSB 11X multi at stock VCore (1.65) as the most stable OC. That puts me at 2035Mhz. At this OC I'm 100% stable (24hour runs of each Sis Sandra Burn in, Prime95 torture and 3DMark 03).

Are you getting these marks in dual mode?

Hi Nnyan - were you able to push the chip any farther with standard vcore? I have the same set up as you, and was wondering about your results. What is your score in 3d mark 2001 se?

I got to 12x185 as my max. I wanted 12.5x185, or 12x190, but neither will happen. My vcore is at 1.75 though.

My 3dmark 2001 is about 10130 to 10230, depending on how my stable my computer is at the time (sometimes stable as heck, othertimes BSOD at windows startup, so im constantly changing my settings in the bios easily 4-5 times a day). That isn't too shabby of a score, considering my video card.
