AMD Athlon XP 2200+
MSI K7N2G-L
Corsair CMX512-2700C2PT (tried OCZ and Kinston as well)
WD800 (tried two of these)
Cyberdrive 40/16/48 (tried anotehr 56X CD-ROM)
Antec case w/SL300S PS (tried SL350)

It posts, but very very slow, and will not complete setup. It fails to recognise the HD after setup formats it. The drive is fine though - it works in another computer.

Please help if you have a solution.

Check all conections, I'm sure you have. Clear CMOS. What speed are you running your memory? I had trouble with mine when running the CPU at 133(266) and the memory at 166(333). It was randomly crashing until I dropped the memory (Crucial 2700) to 266. Are you using the onboard video?

I just picked up a refurb of this board myself. Wierd, everything was fine until I changed some settings in the BIOS. Now, it won't post and I'm getting a beep codes of HIGH low HIGH low. I think that's the beep for bad CPU but I strongly doubt it just died after an eighth of a second.

I pulled the battery out, but is there another way to clear settings on these boards?

There is a jumper between the battery and IDE1. Normal operation should be the bottom 2, 1&2(closest to IDE2), and clear CMOS by shorting pins 2&3. Any further questions you can download the manual from MSI.

if your not using it disable the onboard lan as this can really slow up boot times.

I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message.

Thanks, I did check connections. I even just unplugged everything but Video and HD. Same thing. I have cleared the CMOS, and no change. I have timed the memory down to 133 and it isn't that. It would seem like the board, but three of them all acting the same way? I think it is me, but I am out of things to try. Does the AMD 2200+ work with this board? It recognises it just fine, so it must. The board does not require a CPU with a 333 FSB does it?

Brian - about to RMA another board.

Have same problem. Running xp2100 with corsair xms 2700 dual. Post ok but load up XP to a crawl. I tried 3 different single channel ddr 2700(kingston,mushkin,and generic) and it was worthless. Have my second RMA and same problem. I just don't know if I have the right memory??? Well try 3200 corsair xms.
