I would like to ask the forum for their opnion of what's coming down the pipe in the next three years for the Hardware side of IT. I have been asked to write a three year plan for my company in respects to hardware. I have noticed in the 6 months I have been here that the company stays pretty up to date on technolog. So I know the whole firewire over eithernet is coming and the usb2.0 on the desktop and laptop's, "pan's" or the integration of blue tooth, but these things are not really that new. I have been told that certain manufactures are going to be coming out with PCI-X and stuff of that nature, the true 64bit technology and so on, but what does it all mean. Where are we going now? After the .compost's happend and all the huge mergers, its a little dificult to figure out where we are going ? SO I ask the other techies in the world what do you think ?
I must also say that tomshardware guide has been a wealth of information for me an my colleges. Thanks agian for the information.

any help would be great.

64 bit processors for desktop PC's
Much faster processors and more and more memory.
Even more realistic 3D quality

And probably much more... but I leave that for the up-to-date techs to explain.

With a hovering case crashing takes a whole new meaning... .
