Steam fails to release FEAR 2 on time

Steam doesn't release Fear 2 on time, gives no explanation as to why. Many people are asking why do they buy from Steam when they could just wait for the store to open and get before Steam releases games on there site.

I live in the UK and I bought the retail boxed edition, but Steam wont let me install because the date of release in the UK is the 13th and Steam wont allow activation until that date. I don't blame steam though, but it looks like the retailers have released the game too early and it cannot be activated yet

I should be able to play friday
