Hey all,

I just changed jobs from doing network infrastructure to systems administration. The new shop I'm at is still manually installing all patches on 60+ workstations, so I'd like to automate this asap. Any suggestions on the best/cheapest way to accomplish this?

We're running Windows 2000 Pro workstations with Windows 2000 Active Directory. I know SMS is the solution I would normally suggest, but the hefty price tag is making the people here a little squimish. I've heard it can be done vie just AD, but I'm not sure what to look for... Thanks.

Use SUS name change next year (WUS)
Update Services (SUS)-can help simplify and automate the deployment of patches and updates in your organization. (per M$)

I used it for over an year now and works great. Best thing it's free!
