Why doesnt the System Prop. Sheet list the exact amount of ram and/or proper
pc name? Purchased Dell XPSGEN4, system prop.sheet states XPSGEN3 and only
lists 3of the 4gb of ram loaded. Bios states that there is 4gb of ram
installed, why the difference with the system prop. sheet?

MS Knowledge Base article on the subject can be found here:
(The amount of RAM reported by the System Properties dialog box and the
System Information tool is less than you expect after you install Windows
XP Service Pack 2)

To use 4GB of RAM, you have to add a switch to a line in the
[Operating Systems] section of boot.ini. Change

/fastdetect

to /fastdetect /3GB
