If you can't give better info on your specs than "I think i have around 2gb ram", then just go by what the min specs are on the game box. But I'll help you out and say that 2GB is plenty sufficient for L4D.

My brother has a 4 1/2 year old PC, with a ATI 9800 Pro and he runs it at Med setting and get about 30-40 FPS. Visually the game still looks pretty good even on low.

But PurpleRat is right, how hard is it to post your hardware spec's. And if you don't know, then you should not buy the game.

If your PC is newish (as in under 2 years old) you should be fine, a few specs of your pc would help but the minimum reqs for L4D are:
OS: Windows Vista, XP, or 2000
CPU: 3.0 GHz P4, Dual Core 2.0 or AMD64X2 (or higher)
RAM: 1 GB for XP / 2 GB for Vista
DISC DRIVE: DVD-ROM Drive
HARD DRIVE: AT least 7.5 GB of free space
VIDEO: DirectX 9 compatible video card (Video card must be 256 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9-compatible with support for pixel shader 2.0)
SOUND: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

I have:
OS: Xp Sp2
CPU: AMD AthlonX2 5200+
RAM: 2GB
Optical: DVD RAM
Video: EVGA GeForce 9400GT 1GBDDR2 (apparently a rebranded 8500 series) PCIE 16x

And it runs just fine on my system at 1024*768

Bottom Line: If your system is better than mine, you're good to go!

Ok people I'm running it smoothly at 1440 x 900 on these specs:

OS: Vista Home Premium SP1
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3800+
RAM: 4GB
Optical: DVD RW ROM
Video: ATI Radeon HD 2900 GT 256mb MEM

Advice: Try Before You buy!
:ouch:
