I want to price to sell them both without taking too much of a hit. Just trying to get money together to grab a second laptop.

I'd like to sell pc two to a friend without ripping him off. Thanks guys!

e/ I'll also be giving OS's on each system. Vista premium or 7 Ultimate on both. Depends on what the people want.

For PC One:
The current Newegg price is around $370 (all new parts). I'd say you should ask around $250 for this system.

For PC Two:
Current market values indicate that this system would cost ~$670 to assemble (new). I think it would be fair to ask around $500 from your friend for it.

If you throw in Vista Premium, you ought to actually decrease the price of the system (just kidding).

Vista Premium : +$40
7 Ultimate : +$80

Using current pricing :

Case - Raidmax Smilodon Green $59.99 after $10 MIR
PSU - Rosewill Green 630 $59.99
Cpu - Regor 245 $59.99
Mobo - Zotac 6100 micro atx $35
Ram - 2x1gb DDR2 667 $35
Gpu - Sapphire 4670 $49.99 After $15 MIR
HDD - Seagate 160 $35
Optical - LG cd/dvd $20
Total $355 NEW

$355 x 60% used with no warranty = $215 -- so might get $200 - $250 with a valid copy of the OS (NOTE: Hard to sell an OS once someone has seen the serial # as you cannot quarantee you will be the only one using it ! ) Might seem low but the parts are aging and low - mid range at best. (esp. the DDR2 667, 160GB HDD, 245 CPU, Zotac MOBO) - If looking for a quick sale $150 - $180 would probably get it sold ( $200 - $250 would take awhile to find the right person )

Pc Two:
Case - NZXT Gamma Black $40
PSU - Corsair 650TX $80 after $10 MIR
Cpu - Phenom 720 BE w/ xigmatek hdt-s1283 $99
Mobo - Asus M4A78T-E $119
Ram - 2x2gb OCZ DDR3 1600 $35 after $10 MIR
Gpu - XFX 4890 xtreme $100 (hard to find actual pricing but =\-)
HDD - 640GB Caviar Black $ 65
Optical - Samsung cd/dvd burner $20
Total $558

Again worth about 60% used without the warranties = $335 so about $300 to $350 depending on how much of a friend he is with the OS.

Thanks. What about if I include office 2003/2007/2010?

Since MS products are so widely pirated it is hard to resell them even if they are legal copies and add any value to a system -- for the most part any included software is just that included but most likely not adding any extra value !! (Esp. since Open Office does the same for FREE)

The inclusion of Office really isn't a value-add. I can't see asking for more than an additional $20-30.

Also to clarify: my recommendations were for asking prices (and I stand by them) whereas I believe JDFan has provided you with an estimate of the lower-end of acceptable offers.

Correct -- on system 2 asking price would probably a bit higher than what I listed if listing on a sales site (since items rarely sell for asking price !) but what I listed would be a reasonable price for selling to a friend that you wanted to give a decent price and sjong1's pricing seems high since I came up with around $560 vs, his $680 for current pricing of the parts) -- figure about 60% of current retail prices is fair and Ram, GPU, and CPU prices have dropped as well as the 720 and 4870 no longer offered at retail so pricing on them was based on comparable product prices. Since you are selling systems that are out of warranty period - If the warranties were still intact for 6 months or more than the price could be adjusted up another 10-15% but asking 70 - 75% of current retail without a warranty is a tough sale since most buyers would probably opt for a new system for the extra 25% and 1 to 3 year warranty.
