although i can not say for sure on the new empire total war.

its not like total war wont work on a quad, it just wont work efficiently. as far as games go, total war is not as heavy as others. empire should be quad compatible if the designers have been paying attention to the last couple of years, their starting to replace dual.

Must be multicore optimized, the demo for empire performs better than medieval 2 does on my machine.
