Radeon 4870x2 bizarre problem w/ games, help appreciated

I am having a bizarre graphics problem in certain games. I don't even know how to describe it, so I'll have to rely on a screenshot of Far Cry 2:

I get the same problem while trying to play Dead Space. It doesn't matter if I scale back all my visual settings, or disable Catalyst A.I.. Nothing I have seen helps. I can play many games (WoW, CoD4) very smoothly. I'm running the current version (9.2) for my catalyst driver. I don't know what's going on. Can anybody offer some help?

I have two 4870X2s and 9.2 drivers. Saw similar problems, although less extreme, until I changed the PSUs and provided better cooling across the cards. The PSU which supplies the cards needed to have 30A on a 12v rail for each card and these cards were getting very hot. In the end I used a 120mm fan pushing 190CFM to cool them. After both these adjustments the artifacts went away. Might be similar for you. My cards needed alot more current than was suggested even by AMD.
