BOOTMGR is missing on fresh build

Hey guys,

I just built a new comp, and while I was going through windows 7 64 bit setup, I lost power. I restarted my computer and was greeted with a 'BOOTMGR IS MISSING', so I attempted to reboot from my Win7 cds (I have a burned one and one from a Dell laptop).

Even when I boot from the CD, I'm greeted with a 'BOOTMGR is missing' immediately. I can't get the computer to do anything at this point. Any ideas?

  1. Can you get into the BIOS and tell it to boot from the CD first? It sounds like it's trying to boot to the hard drive.
  2. Yep, it sounds like it's still trying to boot from the hard drive. You may need to disable all the other boot devices in the BIOS.
