SATA-disable for A7N8X deluxe?

I would like to disable the SATA on my Asus A7N8X deluxe mobo. During boot up it looks for serial ata devices waits and finds none and moves on. is there a way to skip this step for quicker boot up. can't find it in the bios....

Theres a jumper located just below the battery named SATA_EN1

1-2 = Enable (default)
2-3 = Disable


One day I'll look back at my current rig the way I do my old ZX Spectrum.......Would have been interesting to say the least if Sir Clive had Bill G's business skills
