I haven't been able to get my new A7N8x to boot either from the onboard serial ATA port, or from my adapter (HighPoint RocketRaid 1540). There's a setting in the bios to boot from SCSI, but that doesn't appear to do it. I had to move my C from the RocketRaid to the ATA133 port in order to boot. No apparent help in the manual or on ASUS's site. Any ideas?

Have you tried the BIOS option :- Boot from other device?

Also, If your operating system was installed on a previous setup you'll likely have to reinstall it again. Remember to hit F6 when prompted at the start of the installation (W2k/XP) to install your adapter

One day I'll look back at my current rig the way I do my old ZX Spectrum.......Would have been interesting to say the least if Sir Clive had Bill G's business skills
