Anyone running a barton with the A7V333? Will it support the 333 fsb. I know it will support the ddr 2700 but what about the processor's fsb of 333. I currently have a xp 2000+ which I heard thats all they will support(266) but I find that hard to believe so I'd thought I'd ask before I go out and buy it.

I think there may be a jumper for 166 operation. check you mobo manual and bios... it may be that it can't so don't jump out and buy a barton just yet...

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!

If your A7V333 is a revision 2.0 or higher it will support the 333 FSB cpus, but if its a revision 1.0 it supports only 266 FSB cpus.

Well, the bios goes up to the 166 fsb for the cpu and beyond however the board is a 1.x version which apparantly is not suppose to support the bartons. I have the latest bios which gives me the option to crank it up to those speeds but meanwhile, I'll wait fro a reply from asus before I go out and buy one.

I sent Asus Technical support an email with this question, and the answer I got was that revision 1 A7V333s have the KT333 northbridge which only supports 266 FSB cpus, while revision 2 A7V333s have the KT333CF northbridge which supports 333 FSB cpus.

Well it looks like I won't be buying a Barton, not for this mobo anyways. I have a revision 1. Oh well, might as just as well upgrade my 2000+ to a 2400+ and be done with it, the price is sure right!
