Does anyone on here homebuild pcs and sell them for profit? And how well do they sell or where do you sell them?

I build some systems for others at times but what I normally do is have the buyer lined up already before building and discuss with them what the uses for the system are going to be and then put together the part list based on the needs and budget (much easier to do it that way than to take the loss of building a system and then trying to find someone to buy it as is - since prices change so rapidly these days you can wind up taking a substantial loss if you try building first and then selling if prices drop or new parts are released)

Figure even if you are adding a fee for doing the research - ordering - building the system still costs them less than if they were to buy from a retail outlet and you can customize it much better to suit their needs. Just remember when giving them the total price to include all of the little extras (ie. any cabling, screws, thermal paste, shipping charges and tax, etc. that is not included with the parts) and order the parts under their name and address with your shipping address in case something happens during the warranty period or for any rebates ( most rebates limit the number of rebates you can qualify for and use the purchasers name and address for tracking !)

[Thanks for the detailed answer. How much do you charge for labor normally? And where do you advertise? Like on craigslist or something like that?
