hi i am having a prob with ut 99 when i go to play online i get an error that tells me that the master server could not be found . could any one help me with this ?

Maybe there are no UT 99 servers anymore?

Ah, ya, its not 1999 but 2009. Sorry bro you are 10 years too late.

Seriously though, it was such a popular game, I bet if you google it you will find someone somewhere with a server still playing.

i was playing it on line and i tried to go and play it on a sniper server and it was booting me out telling me i had a hook so i deleted ut and reinstalled it and now i cant go on line an play it what is weird about that is my halo will not go on line now ether

so i went to a friends house and installed it on his computer and the 436 patch and was able to go on line in play ut 99 and halo with his computer

More than likely a firewall's blocking it, either a software one on your PC, or your router.
Go to http://www.portforward.com if it's your router and it'll walk you through fixing it.

it was my firewall thanks i did not no thy was on my girl friend turn them on . thanks for the help!!

some games just never die, for instance there are always active descent 3 servers despite the game being around that old as well:

personally, witth he state of the economy I am kind of surprised people always switch to new games when they cost like 50 bucks when they come out instead of playing older ones.

Interesting that it threw up a master server error when it was the firewall to blame.

Great game anyway, but get on UT04 ONS mode tbh. Dont even touch that steaming pile of monkey turd that is UT3.
