Hi!!

I'm looking for a new Mobo for my new system!! I'll take a P4 with more than 2,4 GHz, but wich MoBo should i choose for this processer?? At first i wanted to take a Asus P4PE, but when I heard about its problems (like the PCI/AGP-Bug) i don't know, which board i should take...
It musn't be the newest board (but newer than the P4PE)...

So, which board would u take for that processor??

Thx

* On the low-end it's hard to go wrong the intel 845pe chipset. Abit BH7 is a good one - great overclocking features.

* On the high-end you've got motherboards with the new canterwood chipset. But, because they're new it's hard to tell which one is the best choice. I'm most anxious to see the canterwood offerings from Epox and Abit. But I have yet to get my hands on a review of one of their canterwood motherboards. And I don't know when they will be available for purchase.

Question:
A Intel based chipset mobo for CPU above 2.4GHz?
Answer:
i875P for P4 3.0/3.2GHz aka 800FSB CPU;
E7502 for every 400/533FSB CPU, running at dual-channel DDR266;
SiS655 for every 400/533FSB CPU, running at dual-channel DDR333;
i845PE for every 400/533FSB CPU, but no dual-channel DDR.
IF you go for i875P, wait for a few weeks for manufacturers other than Asus and Gigabyte to come out their product(s);
IF you go for E7502, Gigabyte 8INXP;
IF you go for SiS655, Gigabyte SINXP-1394;
IF you stick to i845PE, Abit or MSI would be better choice then Asus.
Hope this helps.

You never know how stupid you are until you have done something stupid enough for you to realize it.

For performance, you want 875P regardless of your CPU. It's faster at ALL speeds than ANY previous chipset. In fact it can make a P4 2.66 (533 bus) outperform an XP3000+ in a lot of stuff.
