What is the best make and model?

Hello,
my daughter wants a desk top with large memory, capable of running paintshop pro xi, and main use with photo/video editing Alevel. dont even know where to start and dont want to ask in the high street stores as I know they work on commission and will direct me to the most expensive! thanks

If you truly want to avoid commission/markup, then the best option is to build your own. I'm sure many more here will agree with me since you've posted on a forum filled with hardware enthusiasts.
