Civ3 Conquests

Hello to anyone who plays civ3 conquests.... I have three comps running this game, one is an xphome the other 2 are xp pro.... this game runs fine on xp home but will not work on the pro machines.... it will start and go through intro just fine but when it gets the main screen where you can play or load a game the monitors just black out and all you have is the sound playing in the background.... you can turn off the monitors and turn them back on and for a split second you can see the pic before it goes blank again... I have tried all accelerator funtions and different active x drivers and nothing seems to make a difference.... anyone have a clue what is so different about xp home and pro, I can also get this game to work fine on bothe these mavchines as long as I am running Win ME on them but the switch from ME to pro does them in. I am open to suggestions at this juncture..?..?..?..?
