I've asked this question before but no answer so I think I'll try to post it again. Does anyone try to update the BIOS for A7N8X Deluxe PCB rev2.0 on PCB rev1.xx mobo? I may try later but I would like to get some feedback or advise first. If success I would have modded my rev1.xx board to rev2.0 and support 400FSB Athlon XP; if fail would my mobo dead? Any input would be appreciated. Thnx in advance.

The only with difference with the Rev 2 board that I'm certain of is the inclusion of a Northbridge voltage adjuster which is probably what was needed to ensure 200MHZ FSB and is therefore found in the Rev 2 Bios.

There could be other significant changes though so if you do try that BIOS then do so with caution - try to get a spare BIOS chip and flash it with the Rev 1 bios so you've got something to fall back on.

If the board happens to give up the ghost then you might be lucky enough to return it to your supplier and get it replaced with a Rev 2.

I freak out at the last moment... My mobo retailer is at Singapore so there is no way I'm going to get my warranty if anything goes wrong (I'm in Melbourne at the moment, and I don't want to pay for the shipment just because I mess up). I've write an email to Asus hoping they'll answer this question.
