OK, apologies if this has been asked before, but i've done a fair search and can't find an answer to my specific need.
Here goes:

Canterwood / 875 Chipsets are not made to support P4's with a 400 MHZ FSB. OK, i get that.
BUT will they run a 400Mhz FSB (ie a Northwood 'A' such as my 1.6Ghz) AT 533 Mhz?
I know i can run my P4 1.6A very happily at 2.12Ghz (133 Mhx FSB * 4), but i don't want to buy a Canterwood chipset only to find the thing won't boot with my Northwood in it.

I also dont want to upgrade my CPU now if i can help it, as buying a 533/Northwood B would be a waste, a half-jump to where i want to be (800 of course) and the new ones are too expensive right now.

Any thoughts?

Afaik running your 400fsb cpu overclocked to 533 on an 875P board would be no difficulty so long as the cpu can do it.

On another note, the ASUS P4C800 875P board actually does support the 400 bus. I'm not sure what other 875P boards might.
