If a game calls for 3.0 ghz and you have a 2.0 ghz with a dual core can you play the game?

Yes, a 2 GHz Core 2 Duo will outperform a 3 GHz Pentium 4, unless the game specifies 3 GHz Dual Core (which is highly unlikely)

No game currently specifies 3Ghz dual core that i know of, highest is an x3 2.4 for GTA IV.

Also...an older 3Ghz single core compared to a much newer (look for a lower number nm in the CPU specs) CPU will do more with each cycle so lower Ghz on newer CPU's isnt necessarily slower.

Wow.....even confused myself there :/
