Hey guys!
My "slow" gaming rig can play crysis maxed out at 1280x1024 and get 15 fps average..... lol its pretty bad but again i only paid $400 for the pc. well i built it so.
VERY "SLOW" SPECS:
Abit Fatal1ty Fp-in9 650i Sli motherboard
EVGA 9600gso 384mb version
Corsair Xms2 2gb kit DDR2 800mhz
Seagate 120gb Sata Drive
Dynex 400 watt Powersuply
Accelero S1 Rev 2 gpu cooler
AND FINALY THE CPU (which is what made my rig slow)
Intel pentium 4 Ht 524 socket 775 @ 4.0ghz
ok so what do u guys recomend for a new game.... I have crysis, warhead, oblivion, grid, prostreet, and some older games.
Here is what i was thinking about:
Farcry 2
Fallout 3
Bioshock
i got tired of trying to compare games after reasearch so plz help me choose a new game!
fallout 3 is a good open game with a decent enough story.
Farcry 2, only recently started playing and gets an unfair press due to people expecting one thing and not getting it.
Both fallout 3 and far cry2 are similiar in that you have a very open world which you can roam about freely, with fallout probably being slightly more open.
Far cry is your tradtional shooter whilst fallout is an action rpg.
Thanks!! i was realy looking foward to farcry 2! i just wanted to make sure theres no compliants. Fall out 3 would be my second choice tho.
Guys i still need more choices before i stick to one. i dont have enough money to buy more than one unless i buy cheap like amazon.
Far Cry 2, although a beautiful looking, is in my opinion an awful game. Compared with other open-world, sandbox type games (GTA 4, fallout 3) It's so repetitive it's untrue.
What really annoyed me was the fact that all the non player characters were always out to kill you. Even when you were working for a faction the character briefing you always said "this is a top secret mission - even our men will attack you"... which to me is such a blatant game design cop-out, If that had been the case on one or two missions it would have been ok, but it was every single one. And then there's the driving endlessly between mission locations, having to deal with constantly respawning enemy checkpoints, being completely unable to out run any enemy vehicle, ever, and the fact that even if you stealthily stalk out a location as soon as you fire the first shot every enemy (even without direct sightlines) can pinpoint your exact location.
I normally persevere with games to get my money's worth but I ended up uninstalling this before getting to the second half of the game. It wasn't even worth the £19.99 I paid for it.
Perhaps I'm wrong, maybe the storyline does diversify but it took too long in doing it.
Fallout 3 on the other hand is an amazing game. Even when I was playing on lower settings before upgrading graphics it was a great 50 hour game. I wasn't entirely sure I would enjoy playing an RPG-centric first person shooter, but I did.

I cant recommend any other game more highly tbh....looks wonderful, has engaging gameplay and a fantastic story.
My only critique is that, once you figure out the big fellas it becomes a bit easy even on the hardest settings. However its more than worthy of its spot as the best rated game on Steam, even Vs the mighty HL2 (ok thats a tough call actually...)
I'm not saying it wasn't a good game. It looked beautiful, it played well, etc. It just didn't keep me hooked like other games have. I didn't find myself racing home from work for it.

I have a system that can handle all the games around though i still find my self playing the old classics......
System shock 2
Icewind dale
total annihilation
Knights of the old republic
for star trek fans (birth of the federation) ... though ull need to get use to how to play the game first
i found bioshock to look good byt system shock 2 is a much better game for game play and longevity
fallout 3 is similar to oblivion, id suggest playing games like icewind dale and baulders gate if u like those
