Hi guys,

Just wondering if my pc can play doom 3, hl2 and quake 4 at complete max settings with no problems will i be able to play a good setting with Crysis? im going to buy it soon and heard the graphics at max is insane and i dont usually play pc games unless i can get the max settings out of it.

My system is:
Intel core 2 duo
2gb ram (upgrading to 4gb same time i buy crysis)
nividia 8800gt 512mb graphics card

Thats all i rly know about my system atm i havent rly looked at it.

Thanks, Shane

No system can get the max out of Crysis at a consistently playable framerate.
That graphics card will struggle at high if the resolution's above 1280x1024.

Specify what CPU you have, Intel Core 2 Duo could be anywhere from 1.8 GHz to 4 GHz depending on what model and whether or not you've overclocked

CPU won't cut it either at max settings then.

So, short answer to whether or not you can play it while getting the max settings out of it: No.

Long answer? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Sorry, Scrubs moment.

You could probably scrape High in the less cluttered city parts of the game, the framerate won't be great but you'll get eye candy, but you'll need to be using Medium to be able to shoot things.

If you're going to buy a system, consider building one yourself. It's easy and there's plenty of guides on these forums to help you through it. Plus, there's quite a few PC enthusiasts, like myself, who regularly flick through the forums and would gladly help out with advice on what pieces to buy to get the best bang for your buck, let you know if certain advertised things aren't worth the extra cash (example: SLI-ready RAM, it's no different from normal RAM, you just pay more for a sticker), and of course, putting the whole lot together and troubleshooting any problems that come up.

It's what Tom's Hardware Forums are all about :)
