Hello,

I'm running windows XP and I accidentely dragged my windows folder into the
E: drive that states "files ready to be written to the CD". The folder is
only a shortcut but when I try to delete it from the E: drive it states
"being used by another person or program" and won't delete it. Any loophole
as to how to delete this.

Thanks in advance and appreciate the help from this group!

Did you try just dragging it back?

He put something into the holding area for files waiting to be written to a
cd in his E: (optical) drive, so it is not like moving from one folder to
another. He is being hassled by a baloon that tells him he has files
waiting to be written.

To delete files and folders from the CD recorder temporary storage area
Open My Computer.
Double-click the CD recording drive. Windows displays a temporary storage
area where files are held before they are copied to the CD. Any files or
folders located in the temporary storage area are listed under Files Ready
to be Written to the CD.
Under CD Writing Tasks, click Delete temporary files. Windows deletes the
files and folders from the temporary storage area and moves them to the
Recycle Bin.
