I am looking at the following emachine notebook:
eMachines M6805 AMD Athlon 64 3000+ / 802.11g Wireless / 15.4-inch WXGA / 512MB DDR / 60GB HDD / CD-RW/DVD Combo / Windows XP Home / Refurbished Notebook PC
The price is 1199.97 + tax.
The primary purpose for the labtop is going to be school work and gaming, such as War3 and World of Warcraft.
I am just wondering if this is a good machine for it, because I heard pretty bad feedback regarding Emachines computer.
I really don't know about eMachines notebooks. And some of their desktops are not that bad on a budget, but I damned sure would be carefull with a notebook from them because of lower end line components and support.
Have you looked at Dell as an alternative?

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>
Those specs sound exactly the same as a gateway laptop my neighbor just got. I think even the case is the same, lol. It is a very kickass machine for the price (about $1200), I was surprised. Does that thing have a radeon 9600 mobile in it as well?
I have always stayed as far away from gateway and emachines as possible but that gateway turned out very good so that emachine might also. I'd say go for it, you could always return it if it turns out to suck.
