I just installed WindowsXP 64 bit. Whenever I try to play a custom game in Warcraft III (with expansion, latest patches, cherry on top) the game crashes with a memory error. I made a 'normal' game against the computer and there was no crashing, so it's got something to do with custom games. On this same machine in WinXP 32 bit mode it worked just fine. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

dual boot 32 / 64 bit :)

Well thats the easy solution of course, and its easy to say that WC3 just doesnt like 64 bit. What are your system specs? And btw XP 64 bit? Sure you dont mean Vista? (i only ask because XP 64 bit is really rare)

Yeah XP 64. I got 4g of ram recently and my friend had a copy of xp 64 bit, so I thought it would improve performance ... looks like it has the opposite effect =). I'm really just waiting for windows 7, but it looks like i'll have to put xp 32 bit back on here.

yea...you aint gaining much anyway, WC3 wont use anywhere near the 32 bit RAM limit.

well it was more for my other games, I just had a sudden urge to play some tower defense. =) thanks for the replies, I'm back on 32 bit now.

That's strange, I play tower defense, mauls, dota, etc etc etc just fine on vista-64... not sure what exactly's causing your problem though.
