Far Cry 2?

Nope, different developer and completely different game.

Only similarities is that you are dumped in a semi open world and everyone is out to kill you.

If you want to be really disappointed by Far Cry 2 then you should definitely play through Far Cry. If you have Far Cry 2 and just want to play a so-so shooter then don't play Far Cry. If don't have either, get Far Cry for a fraction of the price and get a much better game.

Far cry IMO was a terrible game, basically because crytek designed it and crytek need to know that silly design ideas like adding in new enemies halfway along a game does not make it good, unfortunately they did the same thing in crysis, crysis was a good game till the aliens, far cry was an alright game marred by cartoony characters until the trigens.

That is what is strange about Crysis...the way that it looks with all of the tropical greenery and water in combo with the story line, it seems closer to a sequel for FC than what FC2 does. FC2 isn't related to FC in any way other than it is a FPS.

I thought FC was good until it turned into a shotgun alien killing fest. I like FC2..it just wasn't as good as what Ubi hyped it up to be. The graphics in total aren't as advanced as Crysis but it runs so much smoother and the dynamic lighting is IMO much better than Crysis.

I like FC2 far better than the first one as an overall, the first half of FC was pretty fun though. Use the bus system to cut your driving time at least in half.
