I have Windows 7 64-bit home edition I am installing on a new set up. Early in the installation, after I choose language and click the install now button, I get a "A required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing" error message. It then gives me the option to search my cd/dvd-rom or my HDD for drivers.
The dvd/cd-rom I am using is a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-112D

Any help much appreciated.

The driver for the DVD-RW is the native SATA driver provided on the Win 7 installation disk if the the DVD unit is SATA interface. Likewise for native IDE driver if IDE interface. The Windows 7 installation disc should have a native SATA/IDE driver. Be sure to set the first boot device to DVD in BIOS and boot to the Windows 7 disk. Also if the DVD-RW is new it could possibly be faulty.

EDIT if the DVD-RW is SATA, be sure to use a 'common' SATA header on the MB and not a header exclusively for a RAID setup, etc. needing a specific driver from the Mfg.
