Removing Administrator Security

Thanks for the response. No, I'm not the administrator. I have a
computer from an old job...it was part of a network of computers. My
problem is while I know who the administrator was, I cannot reach him
and the job from which I purchased the computer is no longer in
operation. I would just like to be able to add/remove software and
hardware. And was just wondering if, other than being the
administrator, was there a way to change the settings that would allow
me access. Thnak you.

Your best bet is going to be to reinstall XP from scratch. The format will
erase everything an dlet you set things up as you want them. If you don't
hve the CDs, you'll have to buy them.
