CPU Interface Question

I have an XP2100+ overclocked in an MSI K7N2-L nForce2 motherboard. In the BIOS, under Advanced Chipset Features, there is a "CPU Interface" setting... options are "normal" and "high performance". All the manual says is the high performance setting uses overclocked CPU/FSB parameters. This is silly... those items are set elsewhere in the BIOS.

Does anybody know what this BIOS setting really changes? I am running the XP2100+ at 166 FSB and it definitely seems to run more stable when I select the "normal" setting here... But what am I slowing down???

"CPU Interface" is mainly for controlling latency between the CPU and memory buses. "Normal" provides more stability but with a slight performance hit. "High Performance" eschews stability and sets the timings at values optimized for more performance.
