can't load windvd software!

hello,

I put a legit winDVD4 startup disk in my emachine computer. While trying to
run the setup wizard an error pops up stating "this is not a qualified compaq
solution". Im running windows XP (home) and need this installed so I could
watch DVD's on the computer. Any way to install this?

Hi,

Sounds like it is a proprietary version of the software that came supplied
with a Compaq machine. These will not run on any system other than the one
they are shipped with. In short, you probably cannot install it on your
emachine.

You'll need to purchase a new DVD decoder as the eMachine version
will only install on the eMachine model it shipped with.
