here i go again with this BS laptop...anyways...this is going to be the second laptop i have to find.
the 1st one was a pain in the a$$ (it was for my sis) and it took me forever to find one for her...we were lucky to find one at bestbuy (blah) for a good price:

fujitsu c-series
PIII-M 1.13
512mb pc133
40 gb HD
floppy
dvd/cdrw drive
15 in. screen
win xp home
and it was $1599 with $100 mail in rebate...that was pretty good.

now...my mom wants me to get a laptop and she says that if i dont pick one out...then she will (and she know blah about computers)

anyhoo...i've looked through like a dozen websites including http://www.powernotebooks.com and http://www.xtremenotebook.com and i havent found anything to my liking.
anyways...i dont want the laptop to be about $1500 and have a setup similar to this:

PIII 1 ghz (i want the mobile PIII w/ 512 L2 cache and 830MP chipset)
or
P4-m (with the 845MP chipset)
256 mb ram (has to be ddr or something higher than pc 150 for P4)
20gb HD
dvd rom (id like a combo....but dvd will be fine)
floppy
14 in. screen
optional OS installed

ive been looking for this kind of laptop for almost a week now and my mom is kinda getting impatient...so if you guys would please help....that would be nice

both are free shipping.

If those are US dollars the prices seem to high for systems without an OS and bundled software.

Why not look at Dell, IBM, Toshiba, Asus, and Sony laptops?

those systems do come with bundled software....the reason i didnt list them is becasue they're useless to me...
besides...the manufacturers (ie, sony, ibm, dell, etc) laptops would cost about $500 more than the ones i listed with similar equipment...ive already checked out those alternatives...and none of them were available with the stuff i wanted that is about $1500...
