Unless your going to OC the retail HSF is enough.

If your going to do PhotoShop & things like that. They benefit greatly with the extra FSB & cashe of the XP2500 333 FSB. Last I looked they are $20 difference in price. Well spent $20 in my opinion.

I just switched out a 2400 266 FSB & installed the 2500 333 FSB Sat. I also switched out the Hyper X 2700 & put in Hyper X 3200. Changed the MOBO from A7V8X to A7N8X Deluxe. I gained 1730 3Dmarks. So yea there is some reason to run 3200 & other things.

Honey, what's that smell? Don't bother me now I'm working on my computer! OOPS!

* If you choose the A7n8x deluxe, try to get the latest version (version 2.0). Some vendors say which version they have in stock: ExcaliberPC in the US and Komplett in the UK, for example. Personally, I would choose Abit NF7-S version 2.0 for the motherboard based on the feedback i've seen on it across the various online forums I visit.

* Depending on where you live, you may be able to get TwinMos PC3200 Memory with Winbond CH-5 chips for not that much more than the said Crucial memory. I would go that route. The memory would be excellent for any possible overclocking or a bit better use with a future motherboard.

* I'm not too familiar with HHC-L61. But, here is a review.

HSF, make it a MCX 462 or a thermalright SLK800/900, these are expensive but the best (or a Volcano 11 if on a budget)

Memory, good quality PC3200 rather than PC2700

Board, Asus Nforce2ultra (but the new VIA KT600 looks quite impressive from early reviews)

CDRW, 52x52x32x can ge tgot for about £50 (dunno wot in dollars)
PSU at least 400W
HDD, 120GB version shouldnt be much more expensive...

but hey this is me, you like it, you buy it...

Hmmm, wonder if I can get a valid page fault ???
these invalid ones are far too commonplace...

Buy MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR instead of ASUS A7N8X Deluxe. It's the fastest nForce2 mobo and officilly supports 400 MHz FSB
