get GTX 260 core 216 or 4870/90, 4770 just seems a bit under-powered. Left 4 dead is not a demanding game at all, it can run well on even crappy geforce 6800s. unless you're tight on money... What was your old card anyway?

A 512MB 9300 Although yeah, the game runs well on it now (windowed, 1440 x 900). I'm a bit tight on money, but everyone's been going gaga over the 4770. Maybe I just got swept up?
The 4770 is a great card for the price. If that's all you can afford then go for it. But if you can it'd be good to upgrade to one of the higher GTX's or a 4870/90.
haha, depends on if your in a rush or not.. you know maybe if you wait another week or 2 you could obtain enough for a 4870 or gtx 260. i suggest you wait for a sale to go on then... most of the cards will less than 70% of the original price!
haha i was planning to get a gtx 285, but instead i waited for another 3 days, and guess what. a 4870x2 went on sale!!! woo got that instead! check out my crysis benchmark!
I don't think you can even buy the 4770 anymore though. It's been empty on many popular retailers for awhile now. I was eying the 4850x2 1GB for about $205 after rebate. Then again I realized my old 8800GT (That I spent $240 + $18 cooling back in Q4 of 2007) was doing just fine for the games I play. I think I'll do an upgrade towards the end of next year. Get at least 3 years out of this thing.
Not only that, I only have a TT PurePower 500W PSU With 2 12V rails. 14A/15A a piece... The 4850X2 did come with a double molex to 8 pin PCI-E adapter...and I already have a 6 pin PCI-E plug, and a bunch of extra molex connectors...Do you think it would blow up? I've seen power consumption tests charting (with an i7 rig too) total watts at the outlet was a little below 400W under load.
