Cd key

played hl2 on my other system,and all was well until ,i built a new computer trying to reinstaal hl2 and somehow lost cd key?,steam has no record of my game activation from earlier system,how do i find the cd key info from the game disk????????????? HELP READY TO PULL OUT REMAINING HAIR LOL

start button ,run. regedit, have a look inside registry, hit the key local machine, sofware, sierra, HL2 folder...
