I sent email to MS to get help in running a clipper\DOS program in full
screen for an XP machine. The reply back from MS had me try several things
(all of which don't work) but one of the things to do was use MSCONFIG to
disable all services and reboot. Tried that - no good. Ten tried diagnostic
boot (load bare minimum drivers) but still no luck. Here's the problem..It
seems that when you disable all services, XP thinks you want to get rid of
them so nopw I have no printers. Its a pain but I figured I would reinstall
them. No good. When I go to control panel and click Printers and Faxes,
click to add printer I get a message that the operation could not be
comppleted. So now I have no printers nor can I add them. Any suggestions?

Sounds like your print spooler has just stopped.
