Current specs

Mobo: Biostar U8668 Grand mobo
Cpu: intel 2.53 overclocked to 2.8
Video: nvidia ti 4600
Ram: 512 mb of ddr 266 mhz
Hard disk: 40 gb ata 133 ulta
SoundCard: Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
Powersupply: 550 Watts

I think that since I took the cheapest 533mhz mobo then I am probably not getting the best speed that I could get. How could i upgrade utilizing the most out of my system. I have considered selling my system and upgrading since I pieced this one together myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

For $170 you can get Aus P4P800 Deluxe mobo at Newegg. This way you are getting a great mobo with a LOT of features, keeping at the same time every other component in your system (CPU & RAM). This way you can upgrade in the future your processor without having to upgrade the mobo, since this motherboard supports the new 800MHz FSB processors as well as the upcoming Prescott CPU!

2.8GHz is in my opinion more than enough for anything that you want to do today with your system. So I'd say to upgrade at P4 3.2GHz (800MHz FSB) sometime around Christmas, and then sometime in 2004 upgrade to a Prescott CPU when prices will come down. I believe that this is a way to get the most out of your money.
