here's hoping someone can help me i have the above board with xp2200 processor 3x512ddr2700 from crucial.com certified to run on the asus board all checked working ok. the problem is whenever i put a memory stick in dimm socket 3 the board always fails memory test and all i get is a black screen if i take it back out everything is ok at the moment i can only run 1gig of memory in dimms 1 and 2 sockets does anybody have any ideas i also have the latest bios on the board and have been sending emails to asus for 2 weeks now and no luck

help anyone please

In the BIOS, set the memory frequency to be equal to the FSB - 133MHz. Try loosening memory timings and/or increasing DDR voltage.

I have an Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard with 512 MB of Corsair DDR 400. I have the memory in slots 1 and 3. I had the same problem. Make sure you check with your memory manufacturer and manually set the memory timings. This did the trick for me. Good luck. Here is my system:

cheers for the reply everyone glad to hear its not just me having the same problem just a quick question to davemar14 or any more noligable people out there what would be the best manual settings for 2x512ddr2700 while i await a reply from crucial and asus

I have checked my setting for my Corsair memory and I am running the memory at 6-3-3-2. The 2 is the CAS latency. If you know what CAS latency the memory is rated at, run it at that setting. It will most likely be either 2 or 2.5. It may be on the package that the memory came in. Also run the memory in optimal settings. Lastly make sure the memory is in sync with the FSB.
