Hi hope someone can help with this.
I bought an HP Pavillion with wireless USB keyboard and mouse about 2 weeks
ago. Everything worked fine until a couple of days ago when keyboard went
dead when starting pc first thing in morning. I should also say that mouse
batteries only lasted 2 weeks before needed changing. Thinking back I'm not
sure keyboard leds were working on receiver except for first one - num lock-
but mouse activity led always works. I thought keyboard was at fault and got
it exchanged but same problem with new one. If I use a keyboard with a cable
then it works fine and the leds on receiver also work. I've checked power
management options for usb root hub (should there really be 5 entries in
Device Manager for this?) and none of the Save Power options are checked.
I've uninstalled and re-installed driver. I've also done a lot of swearing!
As problem was first thing in morning I thought it might be due to Windows
updates and pc restarting again, but I've tried a restore point and still no
joy. Can anybody suggest a solution to save my sanity.

Thanks in advance

Make sure the invisible path to the receiver unit for the keyboard and mouse
isn't obstructed by any solid objects and that it's located a suitable
distance from any other electrical device, Wayne.

Thanks for quick reply. I've tried moving devices around and moved stuff
that might cause inteference but still no joy. The fact that it was working
and then stopped makes me think it's a software problem.
