Bios lists xp 1700 as a 1100 athlon automatically configures it as such. My old ecs kzs5a recognized it as an xp 1700. I tried flashing the bios but I cant seem to get the award flash utility to work. My framrates in Return to cstle Wolf have dropped from my old board as if I truly downgraded processors. Sandra reads it as an 1100 cpu. Memory tests were fine. Sandra mentions that the bus speed of the board is kinda low. The CPU is set at 133. Memory is 166...sandra recognizes the memory at 333.... Every thing works fine except speed is down on cpu benchmarks because the bios seems to think its a 1100 athlon instead of an xp 1700. Bios date is listed as 3/5/2003 thats why I was scratching my head wondering if a bios upgrade would solve the problem. Users manual even states revised march/2003. I did switch to some generic pc 2100, bios recognized it right away and set it to 133 but cpu still posted as an 1100.
Any advice?

Sounds like you may have the CPU_FSB jumper on the 200 MHz. front side bus setting. That would be pins 2 & 3. Make sure this jumper is set to pins 1 & 2 and see if it auto-recognizes your CPU as a 133 MHz. FSB chip. If not, then go into the BIOS and manually set it to 133 MHz. front side bus and it will come up to the 1700 speed.

Thats the config/ I double checked the jumper/ its at the default 333/266 position. Memory and cpu are at 133 auto detected. multiplier is 11x also through auto.

I just did a sandra arithemetic benchmark test. It reported the FSB as 2x 99 mhz. Lol the bios has it set to 133.I double checked the jumper again and its at the 333/266 position.

I reseated cpu and reset cmos, double checked the fsb jumper setting, I cant seem to get this board to a 266 bus. I did a cpu benchmark with sandra and it confirmed the the cpus running at 2x100 fsb even though I have the bios on the 133 setting.

I reseated the cpu and reset the cmos, double checked the fsb jumper settings and still no change. I cant seem to get this board out of 200 fsb. Bad board? I had no problems with this cpu in my ecsk7s5a.

I reaseted the ccpu and cleared the cmos. I double checked the fsb jumper and everythings were it should be. I cant figure this one out. Bad board? I can beleive everything else is working fine except that I cant get out of 200 fsb.

I've some board and a Athlon XP 2500+
Some problem, but when I've upgraded the bios tu 1004 the board recognizes CPU as a 2500+.
Than if I change something in the bios, tracking changes, it set the CPU at 1100 MHz and do not change this even if I rebring the setting to tracked state, until I re-flash the bios tu 1002 and than again to 1004. Than It change again the CPU to 2500+, but what if I touch again the bios? I think there is the return of the 1100 CPU...
