Radeon 9600 pro oblivion crashing

hi there i am currently using a radeon 9600 pro card (256mb edition) and i cant seem to get oblivion to work, at one point i had it working on my system but had to reformat and now i can't find the correct drivers for my card currently catalyst 9.3 is the most up to date but if i run oblivion it lets my character into the game for seriously 2 seconds then i get a blue screen and it reboots. other versions i have tried make the graphics for the hands/weapon shimmer in first person anyone able to help? (below info was saved with other driver not 9.3 just fyi)

My problem doesn't sound the same as yours, but the solution may be. My case oblivion would get stuck at map intro, but would not show the menu buttons.

Anyway this is what worked for me. And I am not to familiar with dxdiag info so I will try to put this as plain as possible.

I found the only driver that worked for me was:

Radeon 9600 Pro Family (provided by Microsoft Corporation)
Date: 3/23/2004
Driver Version: 6.14.10.6462

Oddly enough I discover this when I uninstalled my latest driver provided by ati catalyst 10.2 or whatever. When I rebooted my pc found the hardware and auto selected the driver noted above. I gave Oblivion a whirl and was dumbfounded and thrilled that it now works.
