specs:

asus p5kpl-cm mobo
windows xp - service pack 3
intel - Q9500 @ 3.41 ghz
4gb's - corsair dominator ram
geforce - 8800 Ultra
1.5 TB hardrive
and a *** load of fans

someone pleasse help, i spent so much money just for fsx and it is still crap.

sdf is right, it has to be tweaked to perform well. I have a q6600@3.6ghz with an 8800gt and have my frames locked at 25fps for smooth performance .. if I lock it any higher or leave it on unlimited it becomes very jerky.

if you just upgraded the processor and all else was the same rename the fsx.cfg file to fsxold.cfg.
When you restart the program it will rewrite itself with the new hardware.
I had to do that with mine and it made a huge difference.

your poroblem is your video card, 8800!? Its bottlenecking your nice cpu. This game is heavily cpu dependent but dont be fooled! Cpu ALLOWS good framerates (25-30fps) but the vid card is what keeps the fps stable. The 8800 is your problem, get a nvidia gtx 260 or better and your fsx experience will be as smooth as butter! Well as smooth as butter thats frozen solid.
