How can you disable ACPI? My IRQ 9 is getting overloaded and I think it is the reason my disk performance is so low (using Sandra). I have a P4T mobo (WinXP) and have a RAID0 config. Here is my IRQ situation:

SiSoftware Sandra

0 : System timer
1 : Microsoft PS/2 Keyboard (IntelliType Pro)
3 : COM2
3 : Communications Port (COM2)
4 : COM1
4 : Communications Port (COM1)
6 : Standard floppy disk controller
8 : System CMOS/real time clock
9 : 3Com 3C900B-TPO Ethernet Adapter (Generic) #2
9 : Creative SB Live! Series (WDM)
9 : Intel(r) 82801BA/BAM USB Universal Host Controller - 2442
9 : Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System
9 : WinXP Promise FastTrak100 (tm) Controller
10 : Intel(R) 82801BA/BAM SMBus Controller - 2443
11 : NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600
13 : Numeric data processor
14 : Primary IDE Channel
15 : Secondary IDE Channel

Is it even possible to disable the ACPI?? The ACPI controls the ammout of power given to each device attached to the PC. Im guessing with it off, it would damage you system componets?

unless you can manually select how much power is given to your devices.

I doubt it would resolve your problem even when ACPI is disabled. You should try swapping your PCI cards to other slots. FYI, it is normal for some of devices sharing a same IRQ in WinXP (or 2k) as I have Adaptec Ultra2 Wide SCSI card shares to Creative SoundBlaster Live! as well as modem and USB controller w/o problem.

There is a tip from <b><A HREF="http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12269" target="_new"><font color=blue>NForce forum</A></b></font color=blue> shows how to disable ACPI without reinstalling Windows.
